I just drove through Seongbuk-dong yesterday past Samcheongak. HOLY SHEEPSHIZZLE! Palaces with 10 metres walls, brand new Korean style mansions! Puts the rest of the country to shame.

1. Shinchon/Hongdae
3 - 98 Anywhere with some character and not a government planned (boring) place like Bundang or Ilsan
99. Kangnam (too many pretentious try hards, the bars are expensive and it is an ugly)

I hear that Nowhere is very nice and that Somewhere Else is preferable, especially to the south and the east, and that Anywhere Else is best of all.

Sorry, but I don't think any of these are places in Seoul.

I think the question was about places to live, not drink or pick up people. Live in Itaewon?
