For those of you who don't have a washer in your pad.... how do you do laundry?

Someone told me that there is the odd self-serve laundry place here, but it's 5,000won per load, this is a bit over the top.

Any ideas?

I'm sorry--I don't know the cost of the laundry places. I have seen washers and driers in some dry-cleaning places though. They offer any clothes cleaning service.

I had no washer provided when I moved in so I went with my boyfriend and bought a used washer. It's worked fine and if I remember correctly it cost about 90,000 won. Ask a Korean friend to go with you and check out a used appliance store--I think it's totally worth it.

The ballae bang are pretty good. A massive pile of clothes washed and dried for, as you said, 5000won. I don't think that is too extortionate, given that you don't have to hang around like at a normal laundrette.

Thanks everyone.

Are the "ballae bang" full-serve, or self-serve?
