My replacement, coming over in a month, has asked me to leave him a list of useful Korean student instructions. How to say useful things like sit down, stop talking, etc in Korean to the beginner classes.

What do you think I should put on that list?

Here are some of the ones I find useful. Someone with better korean might correct a few of them. Depending on age group you might want to get rid of the say yo on the end of them. For younger kids I might.

sit down - an-ja -say -yo
stand up - il reo na say yo Ͼ
Be quiet - jo young hae or a less polite form Ip.
Don't do that - ha ji ma
Come here - il-i wa
Get out - Na-ga
Read - il-go -say-yo
Write - ss-uh - say -oh
Look - Baw say yo
Listen - Deu Reu say yo
Listen and repeat after me - ta-rah ha say yo ٶϼ
close (open) the door - moon rul dada yeol loh ju-say-yo ()
close the window - changmoon rul dada (yeol loh) ju say yo ()

Pencil - young pil
Mechanical pencil - sharp.
Eraser - ji you gae 찳
Book - Check å
You have your _____? ________rul e-sigh yo? _______ ־

Verb - Dong sa
Noun - myeong sa
Adjective - hyeong myong sa
future - Me rae ̷
Present - Hyun jae
Past - Gwa go

I apologise for my romanisation in advance...

I will punish you!! - hawn nahn da!! - ȥ!!
Don't mess with me - Ga bull ji mah -
Do you want to die? - juk il lae? - (I can't remember how to spell it - but something like ) (All of the above say with a smile - if you think it's necessary)
Try! - Shi daw hae ra! - õ !
And, if you want to be nice, "Good luck on your test" - Shi hom jahl bwa -

I love joking with most of my students Smile

Some of them I don't joke with...
