Umm, they are your prisoners. They may be criminals but we will never know. What you are saying is that they should be executed? Judged in secret and executed. Harsh terms.

Khalid Sheik Mohammad?

How do we know if they're criminals?

The guy you mentioned could be tried. Probably an open-and-shut case.

As for info, it's been several years. At this point, what info will we be getting?

Thanks, Big Bird, for someone else posting about Arar. How is it that the guy is getting awards in one country but no one knows about this case in America?

Joo,

I'd like to hear your comments about this case.

The US messed up big time in that one. The US should compensate him.

I am more interested in what human rights Khalid Shiek Mohammad should have and how he and Zaharias Mussoui ought to be treated. They have or had information the US could use. Getting that info could save lives and maybe help the US win. I think that is more important than just putting the guy in jail.

Sorry to be so rough on you, Joo. But you seem to have a very abstract relationship with this brutal concept called torture. And there's nothing abstract about torture. It is being in hell, while still being alive. And the people who practice it become the DEVIL incarnate.

Relax Joo. Nobody wants to hurt you.

I think this is a good approach. I think that deep down, Joo is probably a good hearted fellow and that he just has some trouble appreciating the real horror of torture (and the war he constantly advocates). Torture is up close and personal, and if you want to try to appreciate it, you have to think hard and put yourself in the victims' shoes. I think it is fitting to try to get Joo to do that. But even then, you can only see the tip of the iceberg. If you were able to empathise even 50% you'd probably so be traumatised, you'd suffer nightmares for the rest of your life!!

Allright, Big Bird! That is an incredible story.

Incredible and true! When I see literature citing more evidence of breastfeeding being superior to formula feeding, I feel so proud that I did everything to make sure my son could enjoy that benefit. It's one of my proudest achievements!
