Of course it has a lot to do with the stress of living here (my poor students have no time to be kids) but I also think a lot of it is attitude.
This Korean "victim of everyone else" attitude fuels their suicidal tendencies. |

Derrek, would you care to explain? I think the whole 'victimization' complex comes from the fact that Korean culture places more importance on blind sacrifice and self-denial, hence by the time you realize your mistakes, you grow with rage and despair. |

Seems like Jake has caught what many Koreans have, compelling them
to strangle their girlfriends before jumping out of a window. I know a Newfie
who had jumped out of a window after he threw his girlfriend out first.
He had no intention of killing himself out of despair or remorse. He had
actually experienced a change of heart and hoped to land before she did
so that he could catch her. |
