Of course it has a lot to do with the stress of living here (my poor students have no time to be kids) but I also think a lot of it is attitude.

This Korean "victim of everyone else" attitude fuels their suicidal tendencies.

Derrek, would you care to explain? I think the whole 'victimization' complex comes from the fact that Korean culture places more importance on blind sacrifice and self-denial, hence by the time you realize your mistakes, you grow with rage and despair.

Seems like Jake has caught what many Koreans have, compelling them
to strangle their girlfriends before jumping out of a window. I know a Newfie
who had jumped out of a window after he threw his girlfriend out first.
He had no intention of killing himself out of despair or remorse. He had
actually experienced a change of heart and hoped to land before she did
so that he could catch her. Cool
