Koreans (Seoul) speak less english than I expected

There are almost no city trashcans, yet the city is relatively trashfree.

What percentage of the population has clothes dryers

A few friends in Canada who have not been to Korea met some Koreans there and were impressed by their English. And the Koreans told them, oh, many Koreans speak English well. I had to set them straight. That "many" is a flexible word, and reflects maybe 1 or 2 percent of the population.
(But many Koreans speak or at least understand a little English, unlike Japan (near zero), I have heard.)

Seoul has a ton of trash almost everywhere!

Actually, you realize here how unimportant clothes dryers are, and how wasteful westerners are with that, among other things (though they are useful in laundromats, which you will not find here). The floor of my apartment is a fine place to dry clothes. And so are those racks you can put wet clothes on. A good idea I have not seen used elsewhere.

(ปกทกมู... I believe the Korean word is...correct my hangul if wrong)
