|
|
I'd like to go to Thailand from September 15-19 and enlisted my two Korean co-teachers for help in making reservations. Unfortunately, they are unbelievably inept at doing things online, and I don't read enough Korean to figure out the Korean travel sites for myself. I checked on English speaking sites, but they only quote prices for the most expensive airlines. I was getting quotes like 600,000+ won for a ticket to Thailand, whereas the Korean sites were showing an average of 3-400,000.
So, anyway, can someone tell me how they book their own flights? What site should I use? How much should I expect to pay for a ticket to Thailand?
Thanks,
Q~
EDIT: Ugh... just checked Travelocity and it only had one option at $826. There's GOTTA be a better WAY! |

Quoting 340k for either Bangkok or Phuket...
Someone posted about a Thai budget airline doing the Bangkok - Incheon route too, if you want to get searching the forums. |

I'd suspect the biggest part of your problem is timing. That period is Chuseok- one of the peak travel times for Koreans. Most people reserve a seat back in July for a flight then.
If I were you, I'd take a day trip to Seoul, and go to the YMCA building in Jongno, where there are a ton of travel agents. One of them should be able to find you a last minute seat
www.toptravel.co.kr is one of the comanies in that area, and I know they have English speakers on staff |
