Okay, sounds strange to some, I'm sure, but I'm looking to get a birth control implant this next month. PLEASE!!
Someone who knows something (where I can go, who I can e-mail, etc) post on this thread. I know they are availabe in Korea (saw the site for Implanon online all in Korean and talked to a pharmacist), but I need some direction as to where to go.
I need to get it in less than a month.
Thanks.

No one was answering, so let me try -
I've heard good things about the International Clinic at Seoul National University. They're near the Hyewha station (#4 line). You can get a hold of them here:
Tel. (02) 760-2890 (Mon~Fri 9AM to 5PM, Sat 9AM to 12MD)
They also have an English website at http://snuh.snu.ac.kr/Web/ic/index_ic.html.
Finally, have a look at Rike's Guide to Birth Control in Korea, here:
http://www.teachkorea.com/rike/womenthings/birthcontrol.htm
Hope it's a help -

Norplant has been around a little while in the U.S., but I don't know about Korea. One problem when it came out in the U.S. was that it had more side effects than other methods like the pill. The really big problem was that doctors knew how to insert the little sticks o.k., but had no idea about how to remove them.
So I would just make sure that you go to an experienced doctor that can tell you honestly about the factors involved in getting birth control implants. But maybe you already know all this. And maybe you'll not even be in Korea in 5 years when the implants are ready to be taken out.
I'm just really scared by it myself... |

i wouldn't have the koreans implanting anything in my body for me this equates to being abducted by aliens and being subjected to weird hormonal testing or something. |
