Sounds like a contradiction in terms, I know, but does anyone know a dependable place to pick up cheap, pirated DVD's? Thanks... |

Here's what you need to know. If the movie you want to see has not yet been released on an official DVD (or screener) then most likely any pirate DVD version will be what is usually referred to as a 'cam.' As in, some dude in Thailand took a camcorder to the theater and recorded the movie, then transferred the recording to a DVD disc for mass piracy.
This means that, while you can buy a pirate DVD of a currently playing movie, I'd say that 99% of the time, it will be a cam version, and in my opinion, not worth buying at any price.
However, if the movie has been recently released on DVD, then chances are good that you can get a decent quality pirated version. And that's what you should be looking for when you go to Yongsan electronics market, or across the street from Technomart, on the corner to the park. |

There is also Telesnyc and from time to time they get an awards/review copy of a DVD and release it. |
