Input needed on the most optimal phone card available in Korea for calling Thailand. Which offers the most minutes/service? Smile

If you've got a PC at home, you need a very good reason not to just use http://skype.com- phone calls to anywhere in the world will be cheaper than you're paying for domestic cell phone calls here.

skype out is

Thailand 0.092 = 110ish KRW
Thailand - Mobile 0.093
Thailand-Bangkok 0.050 = 60ish KRW

so yeah, not much of a saving if any.

You use your computer. You'll need a microphone and speakers or a headset with mic built in.

To me, 12,000 for 180 minutes sounds very good. My daughter wants something to call back to the U.S. We may try Skype (I downloaded it earlier today, but it came out in Korean), but a card might be simpler. My calculation is that your current rate is around 6-7 cents per minute. Skype is cheaper, if you don't mind using your computer as a phone. So is Eyeball Chat, if the person at the other end has a webcam and microphone.

Where is a good place to get a phone card for calls from Korea to the U.S.?

In Itaewon there are a couple of places (don't buy in front of the Hotel next to kfc..expensive) There's a little shop on the little side street that goes up the hill near geykos. Also, there is a discount on them, For example, if it says 15,000 on the card they sell them for 12. They're not only in Itaewon though...lots of mom and pop stores have them as well.
