That's probably a good idea. I've said before we get some awful scum passing through here. This whole thing doesn't surprise me at all.

Here's some more rather creepy stuff from our friend.

Peter Jackson wrote:
Thank you for all the responses, especially those who posted poems. You've given me some courage...

I will post something now. If you honestly hate it or think it is rubbish, tell me...as nicely as possible! Smile

Thanks,

Time

I remember envelopes bursting with money
children bursting with laughter
and bellies bursting with liquor

I can name Curtis and Justin and Brian
And a frizzled haired Egyptian named Mary
OB Lager by the keg-full, stumbling home

I can see trees and mountains on good days
Smell the street scents, so tempting yet revolting
Upchuck by the bucketful, friendly Seoul

I watch the sky at night from a rickety old rooftop paradise, a parody
Lying there, bottles tumbling, beer spilling, Ajumma in a night gown swearing
All this for a moments time the perfect white god conquest, I am free

But I watched Fate smile and nod her ugly head as my rooftop makeshift throne
came crashing down upon me with a chuckle
A hacking, heel-wearing vixen cackling as my legs bucked below me

Now time collided with my heels, stopping, forcing me to lie
Upon some other foreign shore alone except a nameless, faceless wh*ore
Who shared my sand, my life, my shame, enroute to die

I shared this spot before with Wilma, so we called her, the sand-formed beauty
My friend created so gingerly and God, did she look pretty
But my eyes fixed elsewhere, upon the shirtless urchin who for 10 baht sold his life

And dear friend whiskey was always there to greet me
To lead me alone along a guarded path, past Wilmas sweet embrace and there, at last
I swam up to my thighs, heading home, to some familiar place, now way past saving face

Yet I wondered, Heineken in hand, had God created this loathsome beach
And all the trench dwellers who stake their claim so happily upon its sand?
Then the urchins smile, alone in my mind, showed a pity and a love, divine.

*beep* me.

It's not the first time you're sating that people have to beware of being sued for "blood money".
I'd have kicked his ass on the spot and no one would have sued me for that. What are you stating? That Koreans can harass you without being bothered but you, the foreigner, on the other hand have to be careful of how you respond to the harassment? Come on, apolog. Get real. Have you ever been witness of a case of "blood money"? I doubt it.

anyone who assaults another person can get sued for assault, and the fines can be heavy. Doesnt matter if one is a foreigner or a Korean.

What if you break up fights? My neighbor was getting beat up, so I helped him out.

There is no self-defense law in Korea. Nor does it matter if you are trying to help someone. If there is an altercation whoever is the most damaged is considered the victim.

If you're just coming to this thread and talking about sauna experiences, take a quick look at the original poster.

Yes, this thread was started by a suspected (and fugitive) child pornographer.

Ok, I love the sauna and jimjibang. It took me over 3 years to get over my fear and now I am hooked. I can't believe I lived so long without going. I was so afraid to walk around in the buff but now I don't even notice my state of undress or the state of others.
On my last visit, however, something happened which was rather unpleasant.

I was taking a shower. It was after 12 AM and there was no one else in there. Another Korean man comes in and begins to shower. I hardly notice him. He nods and I nod back. He then asked if I wanted my back washed. I said, " No thanks" quite clearly. I thought. Well, apparantly that meant, "Sure, of course!" in his twisted mind.

Well he starts to make his move. I won't go into any detail but let's just say I felt very violated indeed. I pulled away from him. Now I am not super buff and have never been a particularly violent person. He kept manhandling me, even though I obviously wasn't interested. Finally, I turned the water off (even though I was nowhere near finished) and began to head out. He asked where I was going. I said, "Leaving!" He then asked if I was gay. I told him no. He offered some lame excuse for an apology and told me he was gay. He still kept harrassing me as I was leaving, staring and hoping I would change my mind.

Now this was in a regular family sauna.
A few minutes before several teenage boys were playing in the water. I know there are Gay saunas here and if one was into that sort of thing he would go there. I wonder if this guy always hits on foreigners in the sauna. Would he hit on some random Korean guy? I doubt it.

This experience will not damper my enthusiasm for the sauna. I will continue going. I might not want to be there after 12AM, though. Maybe the freaky people come out then. Has anyone else been assaulted like this?
The guy was lucky. I am not violent. I know if he had done something like that to any number of my friends he would have received a black eye or lost a few teeth. It made me a bit more wary. The next morning another Korean guy was complimenting my body. Probably just being nice, but after the last incident it made me feel rather uncomfortable

I will now point out what really happened!

There are lots of non-verbal cues here that indicate your acceptance of his offer. Look at it from his point of view:

He's hanging around in the showers at the "get lucky" time, and you walk in proudly displaying your wares. He nods to you. Meaning: Yes? (Are you up for it?) You nod back, showing your interest in his proposition. Then, just to be sure he asks if you'd like "your back washed". He hears your reply of what sounds like "thanks!" and steps in to take care of business.

You then:

1. Felt violated (well clearly if you allowed him to violate you)
2. Pulled away from him. (Not sure what kind of action this denotes Laughing )
3. Turned off the water even though you weren't "finished" (poor you!)
4. He feels confused, so he double checks by asking directly if you are gay.
5. You reply no, despite allowing him to begin washing your back in the first place.
6. He kept harrassing you as you were leaving. You can hardly blame him for that, you big tease - leading him on like that.
7. The next morning you are back at the sauna again. If this had been me, I'd have totally avoided the place after that. But anyway, another guy begins complimenting you on your body. Obviously the stories have spread about the waygook that's playing hard to get.

Please don't flame me, I couldn't resist having a laugh. Laughing

What was Steroid's point? He seems to have been suggesting the OP was a sock or a troll, not a child molester. Most of the rest of the thread was just the usual Dave's mindless idiocy, with people implying that he "really wanted it" or "sent the wrong signals." Rolling Eyes

As usual, Kermos response is the one that seems appropriate, given the information that was available at the time.

What were we supposed to do with the information? Call Interpol and report the OP for going to saunas? I see no reason for us to have suspected him of anything, solely on the basis of this post.

Good idea.

I never put any pictures of me, my wife, or our kid online. I don't even like emailing pictures of my son to my parents because I know they forward them to my aunts and uncles...and I don't trust that they are internet savvy enough to protect our privacy. My wife has some at her blog, and those can only be accessed by a password.

1. What happened to Peter Jackson's avatar all of a sudden? Has that gone into hiding too?

2.

Besides RACE's one-off comment, who was expecting us to take some kind of action based on this single post? The newspapers? Who cares about them, what's the fuss?

Regardless of what alarm bells this one OP might/could/should have set off, or what anyone could realistically have done about it, the story does strike me as peculiar. I don't care how sheltered an existence one might have led, you just cannot be a male in your 30s and not have had to deal with similar "this creepy gay man approached me" experiences before. Long before. At that age, this sort of incident is probably not going to send you racing home to tap the whole sordid thing out in a long-winded post, and submit it to a very uncertain audience (was it really his 2nd post here? Confused) That just strikes me as extremely odd.

The entire post of Peter Jackson's is a fantasy. No one in their right mind would go back the very next morning to have yet another guy hitting on him. In addition, the mention of young teenagers in the sauna, and the numerous 'I love the saunas and jimjilbang' comments.

The pyschological part is spinning all of this fantasy into a disturbing story of being the foreigner getting hit on by all these guys in a 'family sauna'. Interestingly he spins it well, as many posters read this thread and just takes it literal without any insight into this being based more in fantasy whatsoever (with the thrown off 'disturbed by it' references to mislead the readers).
