My friend in China just emailed me. Very short but sweet. Register NOW with the Canadian embassy, call the embassy tomorrow to get the Evacuation Documents. BE SURE YOU ARE AVAILABLE AT ALL TIMES EITHER VIA CELL PHONE OR SCHOOL OR HOME PHONES.

I definately agree to register with your embassy, but don't count on them to notify you too quickly... too many people here for them to do that fast! At least Canada has it broken up into people who have groups they contact, or something. I don't think the USA does that. We're told to watch the TV.

I'm going to watch "Dave's" though, because I seem to find news faster here *laugh*. Not joking!

I'm not putting a lot of faith in the NZ embassy, myself. I guess if anything starts us kiwis should head straight for the soldiers with the guitars and tambourines.

What else did your friend in China say? The lack of information in your post makes it scarier than Anda. Does this friend know something specific?

I'm hearing that today, the US Military in Korea has Special Forces guys crawling all over the place .... sounds like they're trying to be ready in South Korea in case the North tries something when the US attacks Iraq.

Um, at least I got a mention, thanks Gang Ah Gee! I'd expect that Howard might lay on a troop ship pick up for Australians that's on it's way to the Iraq front.

The Canadian Embassy gave the best advise to have a month's water and food on stand-by. Also having a store of foreign cash to buy a place on a boat to Japan, might be a good idea. From what has been posted we are all dependant on the U.S. for a ride out. Later on I'll post the sites for evacuation. There used to be talk of Japan laying on boats to southern ports to help but no talk of recent.

Um, I heard that they were against evacuating flies, so is life!

Anyway here are the best sites for all of us. First site gives maps.

http://usembassy.state.gov/seoul/wwwh3596.html
......................................................................................................
The next site gives procedures

http://usembassy.state.gov/seoul/wwwh3594.html

All together there are 6 pages that link to the above pages.

Hope the bridges will be there for the Gang-buk-ers... swimming the Han is not something I'd look forward to.

On the plus, I could walk to point 3 from work.
