Im thinking about teaching in Korea, but dont have any idea about where to head for. What are the best places to live in Korea?

Seoul - if you want to a lot of things to do at your disposal. Sometimes the air pollution sucks.

Busan - I haven't visited but I hear people say good things about it. Large city next to the ocean. 4-5 hours to Seoul.

Jeju - Same with this one. Secluded island with many tourists. Not as convenient to travel in or out of. 5-6 hours to Seoul.

Incheon - I hear this is pretty nice. 1.5 hours to Seoul. Airport is here. Located on the coast.

Maybe you should start a poll.

Seoul
Busan
Ulsan
Sokcho
Daegu
Daejon
Suwon
Jeju
Gwangju
Incheon

Jeju...5 - 6 hours to Seoul...hmmm, is that...

a) flight to Kwangju and then a four hour bus ride;
b) boat to Wando and then a flight:
c) flight to Incheon and then walk; or
d) flight to Kimpo and then 4.5 hours in a pub drinking?

I am in Andong now.

It is very exceptionally clean, beautiful, and the people are awesome (compared to Seoul anyway).

Anyone ever want to come down and hang out, you're more than welcome!

You know, if you don't mind being home of the second largest steel factory in the world, Pohnag isn't that bad. Of course by living here for one year you will inhale chemicals equivilent to ten years smoking, but who needs lungs now anyway?
Really, the only good part about Pohang is the tight group of foreigners that I don't think you will find in many other parts of the country.

I live in Anyang, which isn't Seoul, but is only a 45 min subway ride from the center of it, and it is really cool. I love it. Especially my area.

edited to add: If you a gorgeous, male, intelligent, like moonlit walks along the beach, and holding hands, come to Anyang Wink

I enjoyed living in Ulsan for two years.
Things have changed alot over the past few years so some of the bad things being said about the place a few years ago may no longer hold true.

Good location near Busan and KyungJu with a semi-small town atmosphere but most of the stuff you'd find in a big city (It is after all over a million in population.

Hi, I just got offered a job at the Herald School Andong, and am wondering if I should take it. Has anyone lived there? Will I die of cold or boredom?

It depends on what you like:
If you want Korean culture but still a hint of Western then Seoul, Daegu, and Busan should do the trick.

If you want a bit more culture then try Jeju Island or any small province.

Best of luck
