Don't waste money, invest in spices and make your own!

1.0 teaspoon red pepper powder (it's everywhere of course!)
1.0 teaspoon ground cumin (underground market)
1.0 teaspoon garlic powder (underground market)
1.0 teaspoon corn starch (buy at local LG25)
1.5 teaspoons salt
2.0 teaspoons chili powder (underground market)
1.0 tablespoons minced dried onions (underground market, or just cook onions with the meat)

Mix and put over ground beef or chicken after it has cooked. That's it.

These spices can be found in the underground Import Market in Namdaemun Market, near Gate #1. If it is still too expensive have someone from back home go to the local dollar store or off brand at a grocery store and buy them and mail them to you.

Sour Cream can also be found at Costco in Seoul, but expiration date is too soon!

For those skilled in the culinary arts I found a recipe on the net (pretty simple) for homemade tortillas.

http://www.kidsacookin.ksu.edu/recipes/recipe.asp?recipe_id=8261

It's a child's recipe, but it works for a slower guy like me. I'll test it out this weekend.

Okay, on my way back from Nandaemun, I stopped at Hongik university exit #6 as I remembered was stated in a post...Had the biggest craving for mexican and had to settle for KFC. Where is he exactly when you exit Hongik #6? Like right, left, across the street directions would be awesome, anyone know? What big place is it near? I was asking a couple foreignors I met and no one had a clue...I asked about a "food court" and nobody knew. Is he a small vendor on a corner, does he have a store, is it in a mall? I must have zig-zagged a couple blocks around #6...God, a Taco would be killer.

ooo-Wee you were so close. DO NOT GO ABOVE GROUND! DO NOT WALK UP THE STEPS OF EXIT 6! STAY UNDERGROUND! Walk straight ahead instead of turning right to walk up the exit 6 steps. You'll see a book store. Opposite the book store is the food court. Enter the food court. Walk around a bit - the guy has posters of mexico in his stall.

Finally found the mex-guy, his prices jumped up a bit...it's like 2,000 for a taco or quesadilla and the portions were kinda small, but really, I was impressed, the food was good. He was all out of shrimp and beef, so I had to go with the chicken and pork...good stuff though, maybe go in a big group and he'll cut you a deal. 20,000 won for 10 tacos vender style is kinda up there.

Not that any of you would come up here, but in Heogi Dong there is a place, it's not all Mex, it's western, but they do a very good Fajita, chicken, beef, or mixed, very generous servings.

As you head towards the main gate of Kyung Hee Uni it's the right turn just before "New Zealand Natural" ... just a side alley not a road. The Place is called Pina Fini ( or something close to that )

On the other hand, if someone were to invite me to join them in opening a "Taco Cabana" franchise, I'd be all ears!
