Well, I was supposed to have a job in Seoul when I returned, but now I am going back (on my dime) with no job and money owed to me for materials.

Imagine spending your last month in Korea interviewing with a place (4 interviews -- no less!), followed by over a week of unpaid training, then signing a contract -- only to find out when you are vacationing back home that they are pulling out after singing you to a contract. Their reason? Lack of money. Keep in mind that they are advertising on Dave's ESL for a new person -- even though they couldn't afford to hire me.

Then imagine that this same school hints that they will not release you from your contract because they're still "not sure". Then imagine being told 3 times "yes", then "no", then "yes', then "no".... and all the while having to pay to extend your flight back to Korea because they can't decide and you still aren't sure if you have a job.

I am livid.

They owe me money and have some of my stuff in storage, so I can't print a name. But believe me, if they don't give me what I'm owed, I will.

i think you are waiting too long derrek, contact the MoL at least and see what options are available to you. people shouldn't mess around with your time and money, though koreans don't seem to learn that lesson.

They said they would release me now, but I'm still very upset. Definately a waste of my time and money. I tried contacting the Immigration Dept. about my options, but could never get thorough from overseas.

I thought you were getting a job with speech therapist or clinic.
