Has anyone lived or worked there? Would enjoy feedback about what it's like in this city.

And if you worked for GnB English there, I'd enjoy your impression.

Thanks

I worked in Dongducheon for (almost) one year.

The town is OK once you get used to it. But it has its drawbacks (as previously mentioned) - prostitution, large amount of US soldiers and the Anti-Americanism that this attracts.

Anyway - if you are going to be working for GnB, I can not warn you strongly enough: stay away.

The working conditions are not so bad at the school, but (and its a big but) the director fired me (with six weeks to go on my contract) by reporting me to immigration as having fled the school and she also accused reported that I had hit children.

If her story to immigration was not so conflicting, I could have been in serious trouble.

And it may not bother you, but she does abuse her Korean staff (verbally, constant threats of being fired, etc).

The kids are great there, but sadly I have to warn you: please stay away from the school.

If you want more detals, run a search on Dongducheon and Donducheon - I posted the details as they occured.
