If Pootie can make 3.2, one wonders why he does not make it an "even" four mill. I agree with Keguri. |

So, would you mind answering my question then? What type of degree do you have and from what university? |

It doesn't really matter what degree you have or from what university.
its all about your approach, gotta have game!!!
If you 're are fast talker and relaxed with negociating skills and didnt go through a recruiter, you can get 3.0 but most probably without housing.
you know a lot of schools are desperate so 2.5 30 hours, plus housing allowance 500.000 = 3.0 its very possible..
the average is 2.0 - 2.2 right??
if you have experience then you should get 2.2-2.4 no reason why you cant negociate 2.5 perhaps do a couple more hours a week..
acually my friend , last year signed a contract 2.8 30 hours.. no housing.
BUT! got a 1 million signing bonus, severance pay, and flights even though he was still in korea he just demanded it...
sweet huh..
heys thats life..
we all know how life works.. someone will get paid more than you for the same job just because he negociated better or was hired at a desperate time...
white teachers get paid more than Kyopos! kyopos get paid more than fluent korean korean teachers..
julia roberts gets paid more than keanu Reeves!! |

Itewonguy,
What you said of course applies but to a person who knows the "game" here and has at least some experience. Neither of those things apply to Pootie so you will pardon some on here for doubting his claims. He is a newbie and in his early 20's with zero experience. When you look back at his first posts on here and at the types of questions he asked it becomes clear he came here blind and deaf and had no idea what the "game" was here. This tends to make his 3.2 claim even more dubious.
also his degree and university DOES matter for the higher end jobs. Therefore it IS a valid question to ask the man. |

Yes, it's true. For higher end jobs, it absolutely matters. Let's say the school that hired Pootie is in fact desperate and needs someone so badly that they will hire Pootie at 3.2. Why would they do that when a teacher with an MA or TESL cert and/or teaching experience would likely take the same job at say 2.8? It doesn't make sense. Plus, schools that are *that* desperate (who would be willing to hire a "teacher" with no experience) are not the type of schools generally with the budget to hire teachers for that kind of salary. If Pootie is working 50-60 hours a week, is the only teacher at the school, and has no housing allowance (or key mone), I might consider accepting his claims, but... |
