The original 'article' wasn't that funny, but one of the comments made me snicker:

I'm just happy that after I read that article (which wasn't quite funny enough for how rude it was, but you win some you lose some and your site has more winners than losers) I found the "Be the Maroons" article. That was laugh out loud funny.

IG, once again proving Italianess and mental retardation are not mutually exclusive.

you think this true??
how come it hasnt been spread across philipine papers and the local korean papers???

and if he did say that!! then he is just a arrogant wannabe who made one film and did a commerical and now thinks he is a superstar and can treat people anyway he wants.. then he has some problems ahead..
a remake like that might actually hurt his career! if he talks that way about philipinos then imagine what he thinks of JAPANESE, chinese and indians, etc.. what an idiot.. he is a fast up and coming star and I think he might just ruin himself.. if he did say that stuff.. thats to bad..
I kinda like the Kingsclown.. but If he did say something like that.,. then I can never watch that movie again or anything he ever acts in..thats just me too bad...
I hope this is just BS and made up by some hater..
but if its real then I hope that *beep* looking reject gets backlashed till his career is in the toilet!

There's more than one yangpa? I did notice the formatting was different....

Now I'm confused. Why are there 2 satirical websites about Korea that are both called the Yangpa?

This reminds me of that time that I asked my mom which of my pictures she liked best and she picked one that another kid had drawn and given to me. Unlike you though, I took the credit because I was embarrassed.

I hesitate to pull it because I've been aiming to make stuff that was funny and merciless and would not pander to anybody's prejudices and would not hold anybody's hand and pat them on the head and say, "oh it's just a joke." People have to think for themselves. For me to break the facade of seriousness and let everybody in on the joke wouldn't be right. I dunno. anyways, those are my thoughts.

I think you are well and good in this opinion; it's worthy of being upgraded to a belief.

The funniest thing about the article is the title of his fictitious new movie, and if no one can figure it's all a gag after reading that... well then, the joke's on them, isn't it.

lee jun ki!!!! if your reading thisdont you ever try to go out of korea or else you will be killed motha fucka!!!!!

oh sorry lee jun ki cant understand english.

translation for yah: afdojnbsr;vojdn;cjnfcdojlkngotjn

ha ha, this person is bright enough to know that Lee Jun Ki can't understand English, but is too dense to realize that Lee Jun Ki would be unable to make any of the remarks that he was "quoted" as saying.

... and on a related note, Mr. Billy B. & Cub Reporter Alice, you guys rock. Not only is your work funny, but you manage to inspire comments that are also a hoot to read. Seriously, you bring a special joy to my existence. (And I'm not being sarcastic here.)

PS Alice, you're so hot, will you go out with me???

Now that the Philippines has been conquered, I suggest Dear Editor Billy B Robertson take aim at a tougher foe.

May I humbly suggest:

Singer CoCo Lee Calls Ha Ji-Won a "Ha-Ji has been," burns Korean Flag With Psionic Powers

The Internet hath no fury like a Chinese netizen scorned. Let loose the blogs of war.

hee hee hee Very Happy Very Happy The comments are just as funny as the article. And sometimes better.

Quote:
***BIG NEWS!***
Theres something better for you to curse then Lee Jun Ki! Its the one and only theYANGPA! I named it The site of shit!
TheYANGPA is full of SHIT! Almost every news or reports are fake!

Ooh, somebody got their tuition's worth out of CSI school. "Almost" every news or reports are fake. But not all of them.

Quote:
he said our country smells like old lettuce? has he smelled his kimchi lately?

ha! (I enjoyed the irony of the "old lettuce" comment myself, but it's nice that the commenter pointed it out so I could relish it twice.)

Quote:
second, this guy is open to say his opinion. he is after all, an imperfect creation of God (am not condemning God, its just that God wants people to have a punching bag to release their anger on . . .in the form of . .(what was his name again?) oh yeah, Lee Jun KI). i think he forgot that his beloved country is a home to murderers and cheap korean-novel makers.

Yeah, you country of cheap korean-novel makers. Take that! (Also, as a side note, I was not aware that God wants people to have a punching bag, but now I see that it must be because God is smiling down on Chuck Norris.)

Quote:
we dont use tissue on our ass after a dump, we use soap and water.
and above all, we speak very good english and fluently. unlike yourr people who pronouce steel as suteel, starcraft as sutarkraftu.

This one speaks for itself. Luckily it was posted by someone who speaks very good english and fluently. Maybe he couldn't type well because he had just taken a dump or something.

Not sure what this person's message is, but I'm sure it is meant as some sort of an insult, although it curiously appears to insult Filipinos rather than Koreans:

Quote:
no korean will treat a filipino as you would expect them. . . i know, ive been there. in sangwangsimni. we always get a critism from them, that we are moneys because we have lots of bananas.

AND LAST BUT NOT LEAST,

Quote:
and if your country is great, then why do they study here?
most of your doctors there are graduates here. i know because my wife there gave birth to my son. and the doctor who treated her is a UST graduate.
and why study english here?
it only means that we are better than your people.

Yes, Virginia, one doctor who studied "english" in your country does indeed make it morally superior to others.

In conclusion, this world desperately needs brave, noble souls like the honorable Billy B to help us successifully navigate the most important news events that are happening in today's ever-changing, turbulent world. And that's why I thank God every day for THE YANGPA.

If there's a grain of truth in this article, it goes to the heart of why Koreans get no respect in PI, or for that matter, anywhere on the planet on which they set foot. While it's true that travelers from any country tend to not well reflect the character of the nation, Koreans seem to take it to an extreme degree (I speak of most, not all). With that in mind, the arrogance and superiority complex that they display in countries whose GDP is lower than theirs endears them to no one. Perhaps this will change in the next generation, and I see some signs of that. Unfortunately, the present generation appears to be ignorant and obtuse in international situations, and it reflects upom then all. Certainly they should not be permitted to fly on airlines other than their own until they learn some civility.
