Police detained 12 student anti-U.S. protesters who barged into a U.S. military shooting range Thursday in South Korea, near the border with communist North Korea. Police officials at Pochun, about 50 kilometers (30 miles) northeast of Seoul, said the students were being questioned. He gave no further details.

South Korea's Yonhap news agency said the students burned U.S. flags, then clamored into the facility and climbed onto a tank, chanting: "We oppose war on the Korean peninsula!"

In Seoul, about 30 students on Thursday threw bottles of red paint at the main gate of another U.S. military base. Police detained six of them, Yonhap said.

Burning flags, oh my. Compared to what their fellow soldiers are faced with in Iraq right now, I'd say the boys at Pochun have it pretty good.
