Is it possible to have someone buy, and register a dish in the US, and then have it shipped here and pick up American television?

I know it's possible with Vonage (and you get a local US phone number), but how about this?

I didn't bother to search other threads... I'm lazy.

I kinda doubt it since, as I seem to recall, those satellites are in geosynchronous orbit so they're physically on the other side of the planet from us.

But major companies like DirectTV, or whoever, might have service in Asia that communicates between sats... do you know for a fact it won't work, or are you speculating?

I already checked with a buddy who works for Bell Canada awhile back and he said (like a previous poster mentioned) that the satellites have a specific "footprint" which means that a satellite like Bell's Express Vu only works in North America, not over here.

I'm looking to buy just a satellite dish and set it up to receive FTA (free-to-air) channels.

Where can I buy a satellite dish, LNB, and receiver with help to set it up in Seoul?
