Hello, I was just wondering if anyone has had a chance to go camping in the mountains in Korea. Do Koreans do that sort of thing? I know there are a few national parks. Are there camping areas there, etc. Also, I was wondering if anyone out there has had a chance to do any off road biking. I found a web page detailing some trails around Seoul but I was wondering if anyone had done any riding around Pusan.

Koreans seem to park anywhere, pass out drunk anywhere, so I wonder... Where can people camp? On beaches seems okay. What about on unused fields or mountains? Who has travelled off the beaten path a lot?

www.tour2korea.com has very good info on camping in the national parks, and details of how to get there, book etc. in national parks you can only camp in designated areas (free except july/aug) but outside the national parks you can camp anywhere you like.

Last wek there was an article in the Korean Herald listing all the National parks with an accompanying map and bits of info on camping. See if you can track it down. Sorry the Alzheimer's prevents me from remembering what day it was... Thursday, Friday??
