Ironic! A lot of anti American rhetoric going around and the largest bank in korea gets bought by an American company! Lone Star funds bought KEB (korean exchange bank) and now owns 51% of it. How do the bank employees feel about working for Americans now? Will service improve? Will customer service improve? Anyone know where Lone Star branches are located? Sounds like Texas.

I've never had a problem with service at my bank(Kookmin), so I don't understand why you are implying that service sucks at Korean banks.
But then I have only dealt with Kookmin and CHB and have never had a problem. Hell, Kookimin has internet banking in English, yes, I said English.
As for the employees of KEB, no news of walkouts or strikes, so they don't seem to mind.

Not really job-related, unless you're employed by KEB... Laughing

This is teaching related; KEB hires ESL teachers at their home office to teach English to its staff and staff from other branches. Also, a few offices have hired non koreans to better serve their English speaking customers.

So far I've always found KEB to be the best. . .I've had trouble with Hana (formally Seoul) bank. Last summer I went to Canada, used my Seoul bank card, no problem. This summer I went again, it gave me 2 withdrawals than stopped working. When my wife called admin to ask what the problem was, they said it was impossible to take cash out in North America. um, so why did I get 2 withdrawals already? bastards. Anyway, KEB!!
