The United Nations ranked Korea 15th among 190 member nations in operating effective e-government systems and placed www.Korea.net among the top 15 "excellent examples of single entry portals" in a survey released in June 2002, titled "Benchmarking E-government: A Global Perspective." Korea.net and the government portal site of Singapore were the only sites in Asia that made the U.N. ranking list, the honor based on the site's expediency, pace of updates, and scope of information.
