Anybody knows eisa-dance? Its one of Okinawan traditional culture and very popular in Okinawa. And I looooove eisa!!
I watched eisa-dance last weekend at our school festival. It was powerful and very great perfomance. I was excited and I enjoyed it very much.
So, I want to introduce it to people in the world.
Eisa is a folk dance to the people of the Ryukyu Islands. Although, it is performed through the year at various festivals.
Normally, young men dance with drums and young women danced with their hands.
And eisa-dancers wear various costumes, usually according to local tradition and genders, colorful knotted turban. Special vest and leggings are popular.
If you are interested in eisa, you can see the some videos on youtube.
And if you have a chance to visit Okinawa, especially in summer season, you must see it!
Thank you for reading:) |
