someone told me that i have speed problems because they are out of hard disk space

You got to specify what computer operating system you are on, is it Windows whatever version, Apple Machintosh, some version of Linux, or other.

If newer versions of Windows, open My Computer, take a look at the partitions, like (C, it should show something like 250.1 GB free of 487.3 GB, which means you have 250.1 GB left.
For all versions of Windows, open My Computer, right click the partition (C and select Properties, there's a Capacity section where a pie chart is shown, and above it, the specific numbers.
