So... who of you is using Linux?

Which distribution do you prefer and why?

At the moment I'm using Mandriva 2008 One. I think it's an easy to use distri (good for beginners like me Wink ). Unfortunately I have some problems with setting my WLAN. I've problems to find the right drivers and embed them... but I don't stop to give my best to get it startet Very Happy

Hello guys.

I use GNU/Linux everyday, and my favorite distribution is Slackware, but right now I'm using Ubuntu.

My first distribution was redhat 5.2.

Cool, you have an Eee-PC. Can you tell me some things about it?
Which version of the Eee-PC do you have?
By the way is it possible to install Windows XP or even Vista on the Eee?

Well, I am Using windows right now, but I just gonna try the Ubuntu portable edition for my Unix class. The best part is the I do not have to install it in my computer.

Hello Alextv,

I didn't know that there exists a portable version of Ubuntu. Do you have a link where it can be downloaded?

Regards

hello LeBron,

Here is where I found all the information.

http://www.pendrivelinux.com/2008/11/01/ubuntu-810-install-using-the-built-in-usb-installer/

There you'll find how to create a USB Linux version, but also you can only download the Ubuntu ISO, and then burn it into a blank.
