As politicians always declare something such as we must recommit ourselves to strengthen... When looking up the dictionary, I found that it is kind of similar to the meaning of commit oneself to, which also show the dicision to do something.
So what is the difference? What's the exact definition of recommit? Can we say we must commit ourselves to strengthen... _________________ enjoy life, enjoy frisbee. |

"re-" usually means again (for example, redo, reword, renew, reevaluate, etc.) so recommit means commit yourself to some again. It gives the idea of making your commitment stronger because you are committing all over again. |
