Hi teachers!
I met expressions of which I couldn’t understand the meanings again while I was reading a novel.I would be happy if you could help me.
I wonder what“for hire” session means in the following context. This big brother is heroine's half blood brother. His real mother, Iesha, is a *beep*. She was in a tight black dress that barely covers her thighs and way too much makeup on when she came into the church for a funeral. The host of the funeral kicked out her, saying “Get out of here. Coming in the Lord’s house, looking like the prostitute you are!”
I guess, this sentence, for hire”, means this Daddy paid Iesha for sex. Am I right? King is a gang boss.

It’s no secret that my big brother is the result of a “for hire” session Daddy had with Iesha after a fight with Mommy. Iesha was King’s girl, but he told her to “hook Maverick up,”
