Recently I read a new book, the portrait of killer- Jack the Ripper, which brought me not only a few nightmares but also some questions marks in mind. After my encounter to London, I've been amazed by the century-killer legend left out there after hundred years. The inhuman-murder casted away with his immortal sins and kept people from puzzling the maze he designed. Until now, the prefessional US detective re-investgated this mysterious case with new-crime sence techniqe and revealed the real killer was one of the most famous painters in the late 1800s. A powerful artist who won the good reputation in the upper class suffering from childhood sexaul-organ surgery that indicated his motives of series murders. Although no one really fetched his spirit in the past; however, we know the truth shall not always be buried with the pace of time. |

jack the ripper is a classic mix of reality and myth. personally i think the new investigations linking him to a famous painter add more to the myth than reality. the reason jack the ripper has proved so interesting and enduring is that his story has been passed down the ages orally, not by scientific documentation. with this process comes exageration, speculation and also just a little trace of truth. the best thing is, despite the new revelations, the mystery is still exactlly that: who jack the ripper was remains unknown. |
