I've never understood why the death penalty is right but killing is wrong. Aren't they both killing? How is murdering to revenge murder supposed to be a good thing? I hate the idea of my money (from taxes) being used to pay for a murderer's life sentence in prison, but I still prefer that idea to killing him.

Even if he had murdered a person one loves.... we blame him for murdering and do exactly the same thing on him... an eye for an eye, a tooth for a tooth.... I thought, we would know better for 2000 years.

Even though he killed someone who I love, I can not kill him myself. In my point of view, killing a human is not a human's job. According to the holy bible, human can not take other's lives.

Well put.

I'm not a Christian myself but in this instance I agree with it. "Thou Shalt not kill", right? It's unfortunate that U.S. President Bush, who claims to be a Christian, doesn't agree. He is the former govenor of Texas where there are more executions than any other state.

government and laws are indeed beastial. I thought as humans we have "humanity", setting us apart frommals. At the least I've always found capital punishment barbaric.

Anyway, if the murderer killed someone you love.... You of course want to kill him... but.... I don't know if the victim wants to revenge or forgive????? Hard to think rite?
