hello everybody,i am a college student of mathematic department .Maybe no one feel easy when concerns with this subject,to me,it 's not at all easy,either.But the more i 've learnt about it .the deeper i love it.someone once told me:when you set out to a journey.just stick to it.i think i will not give up easily,and i will hold on and on...

Yes!!!!! I agree with you. Well, it's not verey difficult, because I'm doing my PhD thesis in Mathematics, so I'm a math-lover too. I'm working in algebraic topology, and you?

hey,nice to meet you.i've post the topic for a long time but received no reply.  i am just a freshman in college and i am studying some basic courses of maths this term.such as algebra and the analyse of mathematic.may be i'll take algebraic topology in the third year .is mathematics popular in your country?

well, popular... I don't know... No specially popular but it's highly regarded.
I finished my degree in Mathematics in 2002 and I studied algebraic topology for 3 years during the degree.
Good luck with the analysis and enjoy with the algebra!

Hi, my name's Clare.Nice to meet you guy who are math-lover here. I am yr 11 student in Australia. and now i met a little problem that is a 4 Unit (highest level)Maths problem for yr12 student and i want to learn it by myself. I know that you guys will be much clever that I . Thank you for help.
Q:How to prove that"sum of the distance from a point of the locus to the 2 foci is constant and dtermine what the constant is(this is for ellispe " " difference from a point of the locus to the foci is constant(this is for hyperbola) "

Oh...no.... I live in Barcelona, but... And about maths... Topology is abstract?? Noooo, you can take your surfaces, with their holes and play with them. Calculus is abstract, Complex analysis is abstrac, but topology.... is wonderful.

but there are exceptions 
And Tanya, there are many bundles in topology. The tangent one is a bit rigid  .... but fiber bundles, in general, are quite useful. In fact, my thesis is about this.

I found geodesics into tangent bundles non-Remian manifolds with curvature is constant. And I find formula for curvature if geodesics is not light-like. I think, geometry for light-like space is very important and very different. It requires new methods. |

Does "non-Remian manifolds" mean "non-Riemannian manifolds"? If not, I don't know what is "non-Remian manifolds".
Here, in Granada (Spain) there is a quite important research group about minimal surfaces and with constant curvarture.
Where do you work?

I worked in Ukraine. Unfortunately sciences is not very importana for my country. I cannot work now. Now I have been study English for continue work in other country. |
