Are these sentences both correct? Do they express the same meaning?

There isn't a child in the yard.

There is no child in the yard.

Yes I think both are correct and have the same meaning,but want an expert to comment on it.

I believe we must distinguish between technical correctness and actual usage correctness. Virtually everyone would say "There aren't any children in the yard."
