hey there---

well, I'm from Japan and that where almost all the comic books are from, and I think comic books can be distruptive because you can get really addicted to it. Because the plot is well written, and drawings are so pretty, you can't stop it!
Yeah, my parents don't really want me to read comic books either.

In my opinion it depends on whether you're reading when you should be doing something else; I love comic book, but would imagine that it would be a bad idea to spend more time reading them than you do reading real books.

It would be an advantage to read English comic books. Comic books are great fun and entertaining. I don't see anything wrong with reading them as long as your school work is up to speed.

I definitely recommend reading comic books, particularly if they're in English. But don't JUST read comic books.

I think it's a really good idea to read/listen to a variety of types of writing - novels, magazines, newspapers, internet sites, comics, cereal boxes, street signs, songs and poems. It'll all help your English, and the more types of writing you read the better you'll learn.
