Hello I'm a junior high school student in japan.
I think about shoes of the custom in America
I hear that there are young people who take off their own shoes when they com into their room. In the living room they put on their shoes.
I think you may take off your shoes like in Japan. In Japan we take off our shoes at the door.
What do you think?
Thanks.

Sure, I take off my shoes when I walk into the house. It does not make sense to track in dirt from the street.
I like to walk about barefoot in my house too. Even socks on my feet feel restrictive. (In your house though, I would not remove my socks.)
I think Japan is right on this, just as they were correct with the Honda Motorcycle!

Chamorros also follow the same custom as Japan. My people also take off their shoes when they enter someone's home. That is also our custom.

Japanese parents discipline their children to take off their shoes
In Japan. It's etiquette to clean our room.

By the way, this custom has a close relation to japanese mind.
This is an expression in japanese.
"Don't enter my heart with your shoes on! "

This is very interesting thing...

I don't think so. This custom originates from feature of Japanese construction.
But Japanese people is very shy. Wink
