I'm suppose to make a large sign to be displayed outside of our Church building.... Please help me with the contents of my text below:

Welcome to
[our church name] fund raiser
food, games and live music

Questions:
Is the use of "fund raiser" correct? (the proceed will go to the new church building construction cost) Or should it be "fundraising event"?
Is there a better terms instead of fund raiser thingy?
Would fun fair be in the same catagory?

I would appreciate your help.

Dave

Both your suggestions are pretty much correct. Minor point, according to my dictionary it should be 'fund-raiser', or 'fund-raising' event.

By the way, which country are you in?

Thank you Dave. I appreciate it. I'm in the US. I can use a little help once in a while because I'm not a native English speaker, and it's tough to master the language. Sad But with the help of my ESOL buddies I know I'm in good hands. Mr. Green I'll be asking more questions in the future.

"Dave", I've not been called that in a good long while. Wink
