Hello, everyone.

Which word is stressed most in "Do the trains get any worse than this?" of Jeff's line in the dialogue below?

Maya: Here comes our train. It's not too crowded.
Jeff: Do the trains get any worse than this?
Maya: Oh, yes. During the morning rush hour, they're twice as bad.
Jeff: I can't imagine a train being more crowded than this. Where I'm from, we can always get a seat.
Maya: You were lucky, but you'll have to get used to the crowds here. How do you get to school. Do you take a train?
Jeff: No. I walk to school.

Any comment would be appreciated.

Best regards,
fw

Comments:

In my opinion, there are two possibilities:

1. stress this

2. stress worse

My intuition tells me that stressing this would happen more frequently than stressing worse.

I hope this helps.

Sincerely,

D. O.
