Hi,
Does anyone here know anything about the city Ansan in S Korea. I believe it is south from Seoul and just west of Suwon.
I have been offered a good contract there but don't really know anything about the city. I don't want to move to a small boring town.
If anyone has any info it would be greatly appreciated!!

Cool

Hi Amy,

I think you would be better going over into the teacher jobs discussion forum with that question. This forum is for ESL/EFL students. Try the teacher forum as well.

Good luck,

Corey

Hi, Amy!

I know really well about Ansan because I lived Ansan for about three years before I came to United States to learn English.

I don't say it's a great city, but certainly it's not a small town in country. Smile

There are so many apartments(they look like tall buildings because they are 25 floors high) there, and there is even Wal-Mart in the center of this city. You can easily see several department stores, movie-theaters, lots of stores, and great restaurants(The foods are cheap and you can also eat a lot of fastfood because there are lots of fastfood restaurants there, such as McDonald's, KFC, Burger King, and Pizza Hut.

However, what I don't like about this city is that there are too many bars in Ansan(It could be no problem for you), and that means one of the downtowns is dirty because there are so many fliers on the road. But there is a new downtown near from another subway station, so you can hang out with your new friends there.

If you're a Christian, you can even go to English worship service in Dongsan Church.

I don't know exactly, but there are five or six Academy(for ESL students) in Ansan. So you could meet some ESL teachers there.

If you have another question, just let me know.

My e-mail address is [email protected], and you can talk to me if you use msn messenger.

I hope that it could help you.
