I used to have a PC, which I used a program called Paint on.
I recently switched over to Mac, and I like it a lot, but there's no Paint-type program.
Am I missing something?
Anyone know a good one to download from the web?

THANKS!!

I'm not familiar with Paint. What did it do? I use Photoshop for my image needs, but it is not free. There are cheaper versions for students and teachers, however. Also there is something called Photoshop elements, which is even cheaper. In addition, AppleWorks, which usually comes bundled with the Mac, has a drawing and painting section.

Hm...
I don't think I got AppleWorks, but I'll check.

Paint is like Photoshop, except without the Photos (and it's not as advanced). You can draw circles and squares and fill them in etc.

You could try Gimp. 100% free.

(note that it's not just for mac users, there are also versions for windows and linux)

That's similar to photoshop, so there may be a bit of a learning curve. But once you have learned it, you can do pretty cool stuff.... Cool buttons like this: http://www.lefinnois.net/aquabou.html at the click of a mouse thanks to pre-written plug-ins.

Otherwise, you can always use the basic drawing facilities of word processing programs like word (open office or ms office).

And for some fun building up 3D universes, you can try out Sketchup
