I reccommend ANY of the Mac laptops, the MacBooks are not that expensive compared to other ones and Macs are sooo reliable, they almost never freeze up, lose your data, etc. I have one that I bought in May of 2005 and it is still in perfect condition, not only that, it still runs way better and has better specs than a lot of the new PC laptops that are coming out. _________________ The absolute BEST site for learning English for FREE is www.English180.com

ohh my god! no no no! macbooks are not very good..they look very nice but the power/speed is not very well!
I recommend an asus laptop. Asus has the newest technologies (like santa rosa) and asus has the biggest experience in mainboard-producing, and a mainboard is the central point of every computer.
I recommend you a laptop with the newest santa rosa technologies (came out 2 months ago - in switzerland!) Laptops with the santa rosa technologies are much faster than older ones because the processor has got FSB800 and not just FSB667! For the processor of your laptop I recommend you a Intel pentium core 2 duo (like T7300).
Other things which I recommend:
Processor: Intel Core 2 Duo T7300 (2.0GHz), 4MB Cache, 800MHz FSB
Chipset: Intel 965
RAM: 2x1Gb DDR2 PC5300 667Mhz(!)
Wifi: a,b,g
Graphic: nVidia GeForce 8400 mit 869MB Turbocache (Turbocache-the card uses also the ram)
Akku: Li-Ion
Other: VGA out, DVI out (for modern beamers!),TV out, cardreader (for your digicam)
maybe: DVB-T Hybrid TV-Tuner - digital TV
Harddisk: 200gb
So the best laptops for you are:
Asus A7S-7S009C, Core 2 Duo T7300, 17" WXGA+, 200GB, GF8400
HP Compaq 6910p, Core 2 Duo T7300, 14.1 WXGA, 1GB(), Vista
Dell...for example Inspiron 1720, Inspiron 1520
I hope i can help you...and sorry for my bad english!!! |

Actually maybe you had a bad experience with a Mac, but mine is really fast and works perfectly and is already 2 years old. I work with a PC at my office and it bugs me to death, I have to restart it all the time.
Also, the new macs are also Core 2 Duo, if they don't have Santa Rosa yet they will really soon, I've read a lot about that lately.
Ever notice how Mac users almost never go back to using PCs? There's a reason for that. _________________ The absolute BEST site for learning English for FREE is www.English180.com
