Hello everyone.
I understand the sentence below means #1. I am wondering if it can mean #2, depending on the context.
Mary speaks French as well as English.
1. Mary is a speaker of English, and she is also a speaker of French.
2. Mary is a good speaker of English, and she is also a good speaker of French.
Best regards,

Not necessarily. Mary may not speak either language well in #1. _________________ If a man constantly aspires is he not elevated?
