Hello, every one. It's my first time to come here.
I am chinese. I was a surgeon two years before. But now I am a student in nephropology department(for my docter degree).
In our country, it's very busy for a docter. We must do both clinical works and research works, we only sleep 6 hours per day, no weekend, just work, work, work. Unfortunatly, we get little money and low society status. Many docter had left hospital to get more money. 10 years ago, many docters thought our condition would be better. But now, more and more docters have to discard their jobs and fewer students want to study in a medical school. This year, there is a disaster called SARS prevailing in china, many docters died for saving patients. Many people think docter is great, but more people talked to their children, don't be a docter.
I want to know how about docter in your country. |

Doctors in Canada enjoy a very high standard of living and are very well regarded by society.
Most of the doctors I know work at a comfortable pace, 5 days a week, but there are those who work fewer days and those who work more. Canada has a shortage of doctors and is trying to make it easier for foreign trained doctors to become accredited there. You should look into it! |
