Nelson Mandela once said that "If you talk to a man in a language he understands, that goes to his head. If you talk to him in his language, that goes to his heart".

I think it is true. In fact, this might explain why I don`t enjoy reading poetry in foreign languages whereas I prefer reading horror books in English, Spanish or French rather than in Portuguese, my native language.

It seems that reading a disgusting or scaring story in a different language helps me to get some distance to that.

I agree with this saying but I think olso that if you are speak the other laguage fluently and you are expert in it you will feel the horro
