In general, Japanese businessman works for 170 hours a month and for 2000 hours a year. It is said that Karoshi (Death from overwork) is one of the most important problem in Japan. But, technology of other country are developing recently. I think Japanese isnt possible to defeated.
Does Japanese businessman work still too much? I want to hear opinion of person in other countries. |

2000 hours per years is normal. That is just 8 hours a day for 5 days each week. Karoshi comes from 2 hours of sleep each night for 6 or 7 nights each week, smoking, and living off of beer, one-shot ozeki, and cup noodles every day. Work smarter, not harder. _________________ "It is impossible to speak in such a way that you cannot be misunderstood." -- Karl Popper |

I think Japanese business men spend a lot of time in their offices, but they're not necessarily working all the time. |

I think Japanese businesses will improve when people realise that working 7 productive hours a day is much more efficient than working 16 hours a day when you can't do anything well because of a chronic lack of sleep!
That goes for a lot of other countries too!
A few hours of really good work is a lot better than many hours of bad work. _________________ Try some mini, on-line adventure games to help your English at: www.gameenglish.com |
