Although there are many interesting things to do in the city, I much prefer the country. The air is cleaner and life less hurried in the country. So...
I guess you might say 'I love my country'. Philo :) |

Well, the question "Who loves the country?" is different from the question, "Who loves his country?"
"Who loves the country?" is asking about the areas that are not urban. The "countryside" often has farms, and not many people. Lots of people prefer the country to the city.
"Who loves his country" is asking if people love their country. I would imagine that most people love their country, even if they don't love the leaders of the country at that moment. |

May I suggest changing your question in the post title to either 'Who loves the country?' or 'Who loves his country?'
'nationalism' and 'love of country'? (Are they the same??)
Who ulitmately profits most from such notions?
The rulers (governors)...like them or not...
or the ruled (governed)?
'He loves his beer.' 'I love my coffee.'
'I love my country.'...the air is fresher and life less hurried. Philo |
