My country has two biggest holidays, New Years Day and chuseok.
New Years day eat rice dumpling soup. Rice dumpling soup means eating another year. The menu for this day varies, but common to every table is rice dumpling.
Chuseok is same world to thanksgiving. It is a day of thanksgiving for a good harvest. The menu for this day is rice cake. The rice cake shape is half-moon, so called songpyon. Families offer food and drink to ancestors in a memorial ceremony.
