Hello all. I have met a wonderful Colombian woman and I am thinking of moving from the US to Colombia. She lives in the region of Bucaramanga. I have seen many photos of the area and done some research on the socio-political environment of the area. It is stable with a low crime rate. The majority of the people are farmer types but the city has all of the same conveniences of any US city. What I am seeking is information or personal experience from anyone who has ventured into Colombia. First and foremost, I know I need to learn Spanish as most of the population does not speak English. Has anyone ever taught English there or in any other major city in Colombia, such as Bogota? I do not have a teaching degree or TESOL / TEFL certification. I was thinking i may consider such a training opportunity if it would help to smooth the transition.
