Hello,
These days, I have planned to go to UK and for a Master degree, that related to business management. However, I'm completely confused and can not decided which university I should go to. For there are two different good uni ranking lists, with far more different order or content, provided by the Times and the Guardian. Considering the entry standard and living cost, I have picked up some uni and listed below.

1. St Andrews
2. Bristol
3. Durham
4. Bath
5. Loughborough
6. Edingbough
7. Southamptom
8. Astom
9. York
10.Leicester
11.Sheffield
12.Newcastle
13.Birmingham
14.Manchester
15.Leeds
16.Liverpool
And I would like you native or well-educated people to help me reorder this list by depute according your own opinion so that it could help me to decide. I don't care whether it is the fact because there appears no fact at all. However, your personal view will be apprieciated. That helps. Thank you.

I hope that things are going well with your research to find a suitable university to study for your Masters degree here in the UK.

My initial thoughts with regards your list is for you to decide which part of the UK you would like to live, Remember that the UK is made up of 4 very distinctive countries (each is represented within your list of universities): England, Scotland, Wales & Northern Ireland. Each country has it's own reasons for visiting and depending on which subject area you wish to study could help you to narrow down that university list.

Another point I would like to make is that once you have come to a decision of your top 3 or 5 institutions that you contact each (you can contact both the head of the department in which you would be studying and also their International Officer - who will be able to answer many of your questions about cost of living, fees, accommodation & if there is a local population of Chinese students for you to meet and socialise with). If you can think of anyway I can help further then do ask any questions and I will see what else I can find out for you.

Yeah, the problem with asking for people's opinions is that most of us will have only attended one of those universities, if any! And the reputation of a university doesn't necessarily tell you how good their business school is.

I agree with scottish_tiger in that you should think where you'd like to live - what's most important to you? Would you like to live in a small town in the countryside, or a big city? Do you want to be close to transport links like railways and airports?

I think you should look at the websites for the universities you're considering, so you can get an idea of what they offer and what life is like there. Here's the site for St Andrews (there's even a video ctour on there!):

You can search the internet for the others, university websites in the UK always have addresses that end in .ac.uk. Look for links on the sites that mention 'prospective students', or 'prospectus', and overseas or international students too.
