Chemistry is centre of science. It so it is a very differcal subject for ESL student. Therefore, there some suggestions to help you to get better.
First you have to know componds, molecules, mixture, matter, mass, atomic mass, atomic number, elemtents, homogeneous solutions, heterogenous solutions and sub-atoms.
Secondly, you need to undertand, what sub-atoms make the nucluies, and what sub-atom is moving around it.
Thirdly, you need to know how to read elememt partic table. you are teacher will help you to find out the logic between protons and electrons are moving around the nuclius. This is very hard for both ESL and not ESL student.
Fourth, this is very hard for ESL student, you need to able to name the element compound, you will learn how to name ionic compounds first then simple covalent comounds.
The last part is most differical part, even sometime is diffical for the teachers, you have to able to balance chemcial equations in a hight speed.
After all above, you should have no problem and able to self-study.
