Hi everyone,

I'm about to go to graduate school for English, but did a lot of language study in my undergraduate time, including Russian. Right now, I'm aiming to go to Russian July for a couple of weeks (I know I'm kind of late with this). I know that I have to get an invite so I can get my visa and all that.

The problem is that I'm traveling alone, and I want something to occupy by my time for a fairly small amount of money, while practicing my Russian. I found this website called

russianinpetersburg.com

that seems to have an okay program, but I can't find any review of it this program anywhere (in English, anyway) and I'm worried that it might not be legit or crappy.

Does anyone know about this program, or any other similar program? Something I can do for a couple of weeks, practice Russian, see the city and make friends?

Thank you all for any help.

Hi,

I did the program you're talking about in summer of last year. I was satistied. It is a small organisation, tough, run by a Dutchman. They have good teachers and accommodation is ok. Through their practice-program you get into contact with Russian students. Good information supply in advance.

For some people maybe a minor point: they are not located in the historical center (for me not a problem, only two metro stops).

There are many schools in Petersburg, just do some research and you will easily find 10 more programs. As I don't know about the others, I can only say that this program can be recommended.

Peter
